Bytware Wins Prestigious International Davey Award

RENO, Nevada—Bytware, Inc., developer of monitoring, security, and anti-virus solutions for the IBM eServer iSeries, learned today that it has won an International Silver Davey Award from the International Academy of the Visual Arts (IAVA) for its marketing campaign “The Great Security Caper” (www.houstonrecord.com). With over 2,000 entries from across the US and around the world, the Davey Awards honors the finest creative work from the best small firms, agencies, and companies worldwide.

“The Academy judged a remarkable pool of entries characterized by creative excellence, fresh ideas, and great conceptual execution,” noted Linda Day, a director of the IAVA. She added, “On behalf of the entire Academy, we are honored to select such a diverse and accomplished pool of winners.”

The Great Security Caper, a centerpiece of Bytware’s 2004 and 2005 marketing efforts, provided an online mystery game in which readers searched for clues in fictional news articles in an effort to uncover a data thief. The winner was awarded an Apple iPod. Elements of the campaign previously won a number of ADDY Awards from the American Advertising Federation.

Although the Great Security Caper has concluded, the game’s website, “The Houston Record,” and all content is still available at www.houstonrecord.com.
