You can accomplish all of this from your own terminal. Support all your iSeries users centrally.
Improvements to PeekPlus include:
Enhanced to support OS/400 V5R2
PeekPlus 3.4 has been improved to take advantage of more OS/400 system APIs that were not available on previous releases. Previous versions of PeekPlus are not supported on OS/400 V5R2.
Improved performance on security levels 40 and 50
New APIs on V5R2 have enabled us to reduce or eliminate more of the MI code that prevented PeekPlus from running at security levels 40 and 50.
Enhanced security that closes potential security risks
PeekPlus 3.4 has removed most of the adopting of QSECOFR authority, thus reducing or eliminating the risk of someone exploiting these programs outside of the PeekPlus environment. PeekPlus now uses single-use profile tokens where needed, which are more secure than program adoption. In addition, system API calls are now library qualified thus eliminating the risk of someone exploiting security by manipulating their library list.
Enhanced to work with group jobs
PeekPlus now allows you to peek users with multiple group jobs, following their group job and displaying the new details.
Improved compatibility with Vision Solutions mirroring software
PeekPlus makes extensive use of data queues which can be a problem when our data queue API calls are intercepted by 3rd party software. PeekPlus 3.4 now library qualifies data queue API calls and as a result now works harmoniously with 3rd party software that intercepts data queues.
Reintroduced 18=Message option
The 18=Message option was inadvertently omitted from the Select Job display, and was a useful tool for sending messages to groups of users. The option has been added back to the display.
Additional Fixes:
- Corrected problem when viewing jobs starting with # character
- Corrected CPF9999 error using grab to send signoff command
- Corrected problem with peek unable to specify generic* names on peek command
- Corrected cursor movement problems using Client Access Express
PeekPlus v3.4 supports OS/400 V5R1 or later. To learn more about PeekPlus v3.4, please contact Bytware, Inc., 775.851.2900, or visit the PeekPlus product page.
