Gifted Data Thief Holds Off Late Rally
Tuesday, March 8th, 2005RENO, Nevada—After a strong rush out of the gates by the Shocker, Judy, and Rachel, the gifted and curious Michael came roaring back to steal the lead, just as he stole customer data from his dad’s company. In the final stages Michael had to hold off a late rally by the Shocker and Rachel to hang on to the victory. Brian and Samuel were both forced to leave the playing field in disgrace after being shunned by voters.
After the basket was emptied and the tribe had spoken, a tearful Michael proudly announced that he was “the world champion of the world.” The other contestants gave each other puzzled looks—wondering what else a “world champ” would be the champion of—but nevertheless offered their congratulations. All except for the Shocker, that is, who remained too shocked to speak for some time after the close of competition. There were also accusation against Bobby for “stuffing the basket,” despite the fact that he only received one first-place vote. An investigation will ensue. Early indications are that he tried to rig the voting remotely using his PDA.
